It's written from the actual weight loss narrative of the author, who provides her insight on the various chapters, categories, sections and points of the bariatric journey. It's well-written and easy to understand, which is a nice change to the deluge of information supplied by my surgeons office. With relearning what it means to eat, how to eat, and when to eat it, the book didn't overload my brain with nonessential information, but rather gave me the secrets to making my surgical decision a success.

Started reading "Mindset Breakthrough" tonight. I'm half way through it and only put it down because I need to sleep. Such a great book! Very easy to read and understand. Well researched. Extremely relevant. I'd recommend it to anyone trying to create new habits in their life, not just weight loss. Looks like a great manual, though only time will tell if it answers all my questions in the future. I've had great luck with Chilton manuals for decades, so I'm optimistic.

First and foremost keep in mind that this book is meant for the above average mechanic, not for a technician. So if you like to take your transmission apart this is not for you. This will help you change out just about any component in your van, provided you are already mechanically inclined.I purchased the book as used, so naturally I was expecting folded, dirty and or stained pages. The reality was that the book was practically new. I was very happy with this purchased.

I wish this were done a little better... It is not super easy to use the index. And things are not described in a super easy to follow way. However, it's probably the best option available, and is necessary if you want to take anything apart without ruining it.This paid for itself the first time I replaced a door speaker. So, for all of it's faults, I have to give it 4 stars.

This book is very detailed in the repairs/maintenance that the authors think should be explained. However, other items were merely glossed over and not adequately explained. If you have something that needs to be repaired and the authors included it in the book, you have a very good guide here. Otherwise you are out of luck.

Really enjoyed reading this book. No nonsense business advice straight from the man himself. It was refreshing to read a story of a successful company that quality of the product was the most important concern. Sadly you don't see that often enough. It was a really easy read that felt as relaxed as if you were sitting have a beer with the man himself (sounds cheesy I know). Have a new appreciation for Sam Adams and a fresh perspective for my business. Planning on reading this one over and over again.

Easy to read book. The author is very open about problems and successes encountered in his business over the years. Great insight into running a business as well as simply learning about the Boston Brewing Company. I read this for a non-fiction business book club and it lead to lively discussion and general enjoyment of the content.

Fifteen years ago I featured Boston Beer in my book Value-Creating Growth as a prime example of a well-crafted strategic construct, also well executed. Now Jim is sharing the full arc of how to build a business. Boston Beer has had, of course, it's downs and ups. 'Quench...' Can serve as a primer for established enterprises that need to ratchet up their growth. And the lessons serve equally well to paint the journey a young company must transverse.

As others have stated, Jim does a great job of explaining the how and why of what makes Sam Adams different. It was refreshing to hear someone else talk about many of the same concepts I've applied to my engineering teams over the years. Jim explains why it is so important to have a good idea, great people, focus on quality/safety, and work closely with customers. I've used similar techniques in high tech, and achieve similar results on a smaller scale.

Under the guise of a basic lessons for new entrepreneurs the book presents an interesting look at the growth of Boston Brewing along with some insights into the company's founder / first brewer Jim Koch. It's a brisk read that's generally entertaining and informative throughout. Even if you don't like Mr. Kock's beer.you'll probably wind up liking him.

I am not a huge book reader, I am someone who loses attention about 20 pages in. Quench Your Own Thirst was great from cover to cover. It shows the entrepreneur hardships and triumphs. I had never drank a Sam Adams before, but suddenly had so much respect for the company and immediately ran out to buy some.

Loved reading this book. I worked for Jim and the Boston Beer Company from 1987-1989 and the stories and business ideas he shared with me then appear here. I particularly like the String Theory and Better or Cheaper chapters. Jim started a revolution and did a startup long before startups were cool. You can learn so much from this book, and his stories. So take his advice, buy a six pack of the original Samuel Adams, pull up a stool and enjoy! Cheers, Jim

Great read. Jim's perspective on business is refreshing. It's so critical to have a sense of humor. I don't know that there was anything overly insightful, but reading about Jim's history and that of Boston Brewing Company was entertaining.

Have been getting into the history of the performance of magic recently and bought this book because I had read about it. Have always loved the writing of Milbourne Christopher and found this book to be thorough and well written with many illustrations and graphics and photos I had never seen before. Have been thoroughly enjoying the read!

I was looking for a book that carefully examined the history behind stage magicians. This one does a great job! The illustrations just help make that history even more entertaining. For those interested in stage magicians, especially the great Victorian ones that helped push not only stage magic but also the inventive use of technology, then this is the book for you.

History of magic through the ages.

I read this book as a kid in my junior high library. This is the original printing and is in excellent shape. The price was great as well. Shipped quickly!

I would just like to say that from the cover of the book, it is misleading from the Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella. There isn't a pumpkin, mice, a glass slipper, and there is only one horse. I think that the illustrator needs to check the actual Grimm story.

Yeh Shen is a Chinese version of Cinderella. The sweet and gentle girl has a fish for a pet. The sister and mother are still the villian in this story, but goodness wins out. The unique twist to this version make it a wonderful addition to any collection.

The book is only intended for those already doing boxing. There were a number of drills available to help you polish your boxing game as well as extra information that would otherwise be dismissed in the gym. That's because boxing trainers usually won't sit you down and patiently explain everything to you (what a waste of precious training time!) but with this manual you're going to understand why things were done certain ways. So I do see the value in this book even though for somebody who is boxing might already know 80% of the material presented.

This is insanely great for me, since I'm new to boxing and need ideas and insight on moving forward. I read Dempsey's book and this is the next level of evolution to that. Covers literally everything in boxing. The only downside is for people who are orthodox and can't handle the fact the demonstrators are southpaws. This book is highly recommended

A really good guide on correct positions and functions of the boxer's feet and hands during offense and defense. I wore myself out in 30 minutes doing 10 reps of each punch and only got half way through the list. The book is a replacement for a personal boxing trainer.James

Its a usual caveat with any book on martial arts or physical training and such that the book is no substitute for actual practice but despite not working through the book with a partner I have noticed a good increase in my free sparring (I do kung fu but the free sparring we do with 14oz gloves and no kicks/elbows/knees is, for all intents and purposes, simply boxing) as I work-in what I've learned about footwork, the stances, the waist driven power and speed and I know I'll continue to improve with practice, as I'm also getting better able to judge where I need to work which is actually a great thing since if you spar and suck (I've been in that position) not knowing what you're doing wrong or how to improve just saps your willpower and hurts your confidence.The layout is very good, focusing on basics but never labouring the obvious and though the two authors are actually southpaw this never detracts from the info as they tend to talk about lead hands and not left or right hands. There are lots and lots of pictures and they're very clear, with the text always clearly relating to the pictures and the pictures demonstrating the text.I've got a decently sized collection of martial arts book by now but so far, this is the one that has given me the biggest boost in actual ability and probably the one that if studied and worked through closely (with a friend ideally - get out some gloves and maybe some focus mitts.) would give me the biggest benefits inside the training halls and on the streets, too.Great buy, even if you're not a pure boxer, if you do any kind of striking with your hands you'll appreciate what this book has to offer.

This is the best book by far for beginning Lefties as both fighters in the book are southpaws. The pictures and explanations are clear and detailed for beginners to experienced boxers, both lefties and righties. It is an exceptionally intelligent piece of work.

Good, well-illustrated primer on boxing.

Great book, great pictures, taking the book "boxings 10 commandments" a step further. For a novice most of the book wont seem too interesting but as your skills progress this book helps you link key concepts in defense, footwork, shifting you body weight and structuring training. Great stuff on defensive styles.
