For me I absolutely loved this story. I had purchased on my kindle for a while before actually starting to read it but when I did I couldn't put it down. It was an interesting read because the take on the main character being blind and having a very sheltered upbringing lead her down a rocky path when she actually gained her eyesight back after her parents death. She was thrown for a loop from here and had to get herself together quick. With her only mentors then dead it left her to figure out a lot of things on her own, which sometimes meant trusting the wrong person by letting her unexplained emotions get the best of her. This series has such a different take on the whole werewolf/supernatural genre and I loved it. When I finished this book I immediately started reading the second book in the series. I happen to enjoy the characters as it seems the author develops them in a way that leaves so much more room for their character to build.

Not at all what I expected - on Kindle but no cover so the story was a complete surprise. Very well done except I have one little quibble - the girl is a bit too vacillating, loving/hating/running away from/to ... it's a bit tiring. That being said, however, the writing was excellent with only a lew little typos that a thorough proofread would fix (remember spellcheck doesn't fix words correctly spelled but used incorrectly). Still well worth reading.

I had no idea what this book was about going into it and I really enjoyed seeing how this story unfolded. It was fun being in the dark along with the main character, asking the same questions she was asking and being right there with her as information was slowly revealed. This is the story of Ruby, a 28-year-old woman, who mysteriously survived a brutal attack that killed her parents. She had lived a very sheltered life with her over-protective parents, and suddenly finds herself on her own. Circumstances lead her to meet two hot and hunky alpha males - Eric and Sean - who have an unknown history together and violently hate each other. This sets up what we think is going to be a somewhat predictable, yet intense and interesting love triangle. What I loved about this book is that nothing is as it seems.I kept anticipating the story between these individuals to unfold as many love triangles do, with a clear winner and the "good guy vs. the bad guy" being identified. But it never happened. Who are these mysterious men? Why do they hate each other? What is the secret they are trying to keep from Ruby? What is their motivation and ulterior motive? These are all questions I kept asking myself gleefully through much of this book. I'm a sucker for a story that isn't quite so black and white. Just when you think she placed her trust in the right guy, she finds herself betrayed and abused in horrible ways. The story was always one step ahead of where I thought it was going - and then enters a third hotty toward the back half of the book!Ruby has fallen into a dangerous and mysterious world, where it becomes very difficult to tell who can be trusted and who is going to betray (or kill) her. She eventually comes to learn that she is a vicious and powerful creature herself, and hunted by muliples groups with their own hidden agendas.I enjoyed the quick witted dialog and some of the saracstic interactions between these characters. Although Ruby is quite naive for a 28-year-old, the story is set up in such a way that we understand why (she grew up blind and sheltered, only very recently regaining her site). The paranormal element was introduced later in the story than might be expected, but I enjoyed the suspense and mystery that it set up as we try to understand what is going in this story. The end provided a small twist that will draw many readers, including myself, to the next book in this series.

I like the idea behind the characters, but I think I hate Ruby. Granted, she is at a great disadvantage in regards to many things but she just comes off as dim witted. Talk about bad decision making. Even with as little information, she could make better choices. I'm giving this series a second chance and will read book two because I'm interested in Sean's character. I rated this a three star because when I don't focus on the leading character and all that she lacks, I found that I was intrigued and entertained. Here is hoping we get to learn more about this world and its factions, and maybe let the leading character gain some wisdom and knowledge. I guess my biggest complaint is that I couldn't connect with the main character. I couldn't even hold on to my sympathy for her.

First up, the overall story is quite good. Ruby is an interesting character, and the plot moves along nicely without making it too easy to figure out what's going on. I enjoyed reading it thoroughly.Unfortunately, there were a few annoyances. First, I find odd how obsessed a woman who has been blind almost her entire life is with clothes. The descriptions of her various outfits are tedious and get very old, very fast. Second, Ruby can be a blithering idiot at times. This is all justified with repeated references to having not been socialized, etc, etc, but there comes a point when she really needs to quit making assumptions and start talking to people.Of course, Ruby's not the only person who can't seem to communicate. Eric and Sean (for different reasons) are both amazingly tight-lipped. Sean never manages to say anything useful until cornered, and even then he only says enough to end the questioning instead of making sure Ruby really knows what's going on. Eric only says enough to move Ruby where he wants, and she keeps trusting him despite how odd his behavior is. In other words, nobody is talking to anyone else. Needless to say, that causes all manner of messes.

I read this in two sittings, but would have liked to have finished it in one. The depth of the storylines and characters weaves a rich tapestry that goes beyond the usual stories one might imagine would be told. Dancing is a literal and figurative term in the book that makes for a secondary event throughout. I'm glad the next book in the series is already written!
