This was my first read by Johnni Sherri, but it won’t be my last. The words flowed off the pages so smoothly, as each scene played out like a movie in my head. So many shocking and unexpected moments I couldn’t put the book down. I read this book in one sitting. OMG! The characters reality was so real. I hated and loved them all the same. No spoilers, but that ending had my mouth wide open..I need part 2… Neow! lol ..Hope & Franki might be my favs though

Mannnnnn!! Where do I begin, from the gate I was hooked. Meeting the ladies and reading how they interact because they are from different backgrounds draws you in. Adding the fellas is the icing on the cake. Paris, Fankie, and Hope are my favorites, I can do without Asha messy and bitter self. Also, love me some Josh, Meeko, and Chi. I was on a rollercoaster ride of emotions while reading this book. I laughed, damn near cried, got angry and was definitely shocked!! I’m already anticipating part 2 to find out how the characters develop and the drama that’s sure to come.

Johnni Sherri has impressed me again with her writing skills. I enjoyed getting to know Frankie, Paris, Hope, and even Asha. Being able to see college life from the four different perspectives was incredible. Character chemistry is on point and allows the story to flow smoothly from beginning to end. I’m desperate to see what happens in the next installment.T

this was my first time reading work by this author and I must say that I am impressed. I thought this work was well written and had me from the beginning. I loved every characters story line (although I felt Asha didn't get as much attention) and am excited to see where everyone ends up. Hopefully it isn't too long for part 2!

OMG where do I start this book was 👏🏿👏🏿. I will start with Frankie I love her character and her inspiration to be a doctor. The more I read about the more I understand her and can relate her. I love her and church boy Josh relationship so cute. I can't stand Asha it make no sense to be do vindictive and it wasn't her place her to tell to Meeko about Hope pregnancy. The way Jaxon did her through was so mean. I love Hope I can relate to her the most because my father kept me lock up too and was so protective to the point I can't breathe. It's bad that she became s stereotype the girl who never got any freedom and when she came into college she became pregnant. I love her and Meeko relationship I was shippting them together so hard. But I was so mad when the truth came out whatever decisions she make I will definitely support her. That wasn't a real fight between Jazz and her cause her friend jump in. Like come on 1 against 4. Paris character grew on me too cause it's sad how her mother left her like that cause of her new man and didn't even call to say Happy Birthday. Malachi and her relationship is cute but at the end I was shook and shock. I really like how Johnni Sherri write about the problems we are facing today in society. My emotions were everywhere in the book and I can't wait for more.

I knew this story was going to be great because Johnni Sherri is an excellent story teller. If you haven't read anything by her, you really should.These four young ladies (Paris, Asha, Franki, and Hope) in Heartbreak U meet freshman year while attending the same college. They are all of us. They are at a time in their lives where they are trying to figure it out. They don't really have great role models, so they are on their own trying to navigate through life. Some of their decisions are decisions we all have had to make. Each of these young ladies are hurting and they are willing to do almost anything to mask their hurt.I enjoyed Heartbreak U from the very beginning. I loved every character and every storyline. The storylines were relatable and believable. Johnni's writing is on point and you felt each character's emotion. Heartbreak U does end with a cliffhanger, but it only made me excited about part 2!! I definitely will be reading and I can't wait!!

Johnni, Johnni, Johnni...You were so wrong to get me all caught up in my emotions and then to leave me hanging like this😔😔 I'm not going to give out any spoilers but I will say that I can't wait for the next book to come out like ASAP. I was a bit sceptical about following the lives of college students buuuuuutttttttt this book was so juicy, entertaining, and drew me all the way in. I was lowkey waiting for Malachi to call Paris LaBaby though😂😂

But Matt didn't know that he was to be the Champion when Ragnarok, the end of the world, came again. He certainly doesn't feel ready of qualified. He feels even less ready when he overhears his grandfather and the other elders say that they expect him to win but to die in the trying.Fen Brekke also knows that he is a descendant of Loki. He can turn into a wolf. But his home situation is bad. His parents are gone and he is passed from relative to relative for fostering. His only friend, and the only person he really cares about, is his cousin Laurie. Laurie doesn't know about being a descendant of Loki. Her mother is ordinary and her father drifts in and out of her life. Laurie is constantly trying to keep Fen out of trouble and Fen is determined to protect her from all dangers.Fen and Matt don't get along. But if Matt wants to rewrite the myths and survive Ragnarok, he and Fen will have to put aside their differences so that the descendants of Thor and of Loki can work together to save them all.This story is a journey story wherein Matt, Fen and Loki try to gather allies who will help them in their upcoming fight. With limited guidance from the Norns, they head off to gather allies while running from the wolf pack that wants Fen to join. They are also trying to avoid Matt and Laurie's parents who have put out APBs for those two. It is rather telling that no one seems to care that Fen is missing.The story is well-written but a little incomplete. Further volumes are definitely needed to answer the unanswered questions. This story could encourage readers to explore more Norse mythology to find out more about the old gods who are Matt, Fen and Laurie's ancestors.

Well, it's no secret I'm a Kelley fan. I've read just about everything she has ever published, regardless of genre. I haven't read anything by Melissa Marr but Kelley's name was enough to grab me; add in Norse mythology and I was sold. But...middle grade? I don't read it very often and much of it makes me want to gouge my eyes out. But, it's Kelley and it's mythology and it's a mythology that hasn't been done to death already. So, I ordered my copy.The authors didn't let me down. Armstrong and Marr wrote a fantastic adventure story full of heartbreak, betrayal, growing up, and learning to trust; trust yourself, trust your instincts, trust each other. The main kids, Matt, Laurie and Fen feel real but aren't obnoxious and the others they pick up along the way, Baldwin, twins Ray and Reyna, and Astrid, are also realistic. It's a struggle for everyone to learn to trust each other and to work together. Matt naturally steps into the role of leader but it's a role he struggles with as he lacks confidence in his ability to lead and to stop Ragnarok and of course he makes mistakes along the way.If you're not up on Norse mythology, or if like me it's been years since you read any, don't worry, the authors weave it naturally into the story. If you find it piques your interest, try out Kevin Hearne's adult urban fantasy series, the Iron Druid Chronicles where he mixes Norse, Celtic and other mythologies.The story is not all angst; there's lots of action as Matt, Laurie and Fen leave home to find their remaining companions, encounter adults who don't understand, trolls who want treasure, etc. They not only have to find their other companions but acquire certain objects and pass a test before they can actually stop Ragnarok. There's only two books left and still a lot of ground to cover. Will they be successful? Will Matt and the others save the world? Will they survive the process? Will I survive waiting a year for the next book? "Loki's Wolves" is a wonderful, engrossing tale smartly moves Norse mythology into the modern world. Go get a copy now!I own this book.

We studied Norse mythology this year and these books were a fabulous accompaniment! I'd highly suggest getting all 3 at once if you have an avid reader; because, my daughter read all three in just two days.

I purchased this book as a light read for a long flight. It is very reminiscent of the Percy Jackson series and is a fun read. Although it really doesn't provide readers with a complete understanding of the underlying Norse stories and myths, it did provide me with a wonderful escape from the tedium of today's air flights.

WARNING: *SPOILER ALERT!*I like this book a lot, so I have to give a quick spoiler and then point out why I rated it four stars instead of five.Matt (and mostly all other people that live in Blackwell), is a son of Thor, the Norse God of thunder. What puts him special over the rest, is that he is the champion of Thor. Matt, with two other friends, go on many adventures to save the world from Ragronok (the end).The second book continues the first and the third book continues the second.The reason I rated it 4 stars instead of five, is that you have to basically hang in there till like the tenth chapter. After that, then things get really heated up and exciting.

And three, while she's at it. My ancestry, on my father's side, is Northern. You can look at my complexion and see a Viking right there. So, of course, a story built around old Norse myths is right up my alley. But more than that, it's a darned good book! Think you've got it rough? Consider if you discover that you're the one chosen to represent Thor in the final battle for the world! Your whole family is named Thoreson, but you're the only one that has to battle a giant serpent. (And you thought your life was unfair, huh?) A great adventure set in the upper Midwest. I only hope the sequels are quickly nearing release!

Bought this as a gift for a 6 year old newbie angler. While he seemed to like it I was puzzled by the question how the publisher of this book defines "kid" and how they approach that target audience. I rather felt that for the younger readers this book uses age inappropriate language, introduces technical terms that are only poorly explained, and on the other hand it doesn't provide enough meaningful substance for an older reader. Further, this booklet appears very colorful and "visual" when you simply flip through the pages. However, when actually reading the book it turns out that the pictures are more or less purely decorative but don't really help explain the subject (e.g. page 11: "Most freshwater fishing is done with rods that go with baitcasting, spincasting, and spinning reels" Since these terms are not further explained to the juniors, why aren't there some meaningful pictures/illustrations? Instead an entire page is wasted to show a hand holding a spinning reel and rod. So how is this different from the others? How do any of them work?)

Ordered this over a more pricey fishing guide for kids. Intended to be a xmas gift but when i opened the package i was very disappointed. The book is super thin and just felt like a pamphlet you could get for free somewhere. The pages are all color so that's great. Just feel like it lacks enough substance to be a good gift.

Really great small book for a beginner child fisherman! My son is six and it was perfect. Has information about different fish, lures, conditions, rods, etc. Highly recommend. It's not a long book, it's actually smaller than I expected but great condensed info.

The boy like it ok but it was a quick read and was quickly set aside. I am not sure it was worth the money for his time.

I was excited about this book for my nephew as he caught the fishing bug and there aren't many child friendly easy to understand publications. I feel the book doesn't inform enough on the different kinds of techniques, lures, gear, and fish. It's more of a brief story book than a guide.

great book, got it for my grandson with down syndrome. the pics are fantastic, easy for kids to hold and they can look at it again and again and again. Bright colors, GREAT LITTLE BOOK

This book helped me get through all my problems with starting an agency. It's easy to read and the accord forms were great. If you ever wanted a book that tells you how to run your business properly, this is the book. I recommend it to all my friends.

One rule I've always tried to follow is to learn from someone who has experience and knows what they're talking about. Dean Morgan has built more than one highly successful insurance agency from the ground up. One review here complains about the inclusion of forms...but this is actually a plus, in my opinion. This book shows the practical steps to actually setting up an agency...including the needed forms. It's hands-on help from somebody who shares what he knows, which in this case, is plenty.

I've never been so disappointed with a purchase. There is nothing in this book that is the least bit helpful. The book is very short, and a large portion of the book is nothing more than copies of insurance forms.

Anyone who is expecting or has small children should read this book. Not to say that those of us without young children should ignore the debate on vaccination. Eula Biss has a wonderful writing style and her research is excellent. A quick read at only 163 pages, well worth the time.

A good read, giving insight to our fears and feelings about immunization, the risk and social benefits compared. It does not force a conclusion but causes the reader to explore their own values, while providing history and knowledge to reach a decision.

Written as though a poet, sociologist, historian, and immunologist collaborated to produce the truth -- physical and political -- of immunization and vaccination. Informative, often counterintuitive, and insightful.

I recommend this to everyone. Such a great book.

Eula Biss gives us a candid view of her struggles and fears as a new mom- not only about vaccinations, but about many other issues as well. She writes clearly and in a most engaging fashion about her thoughts and anxieties. This book is a good example of the journey being more important than the destination.

Very timely book. Ms. Biss has extensively researched the topic as well as make it a very personal story weaving in her own experiences, dilemmas and doubts surrounding this public health issue. not sure if I got a 2nd quality book but mine had various colors at bottom of page like production errors.. no real clear pics, everything looked blurry in book. a few versus of a story here and there. disappointed.

While the pictures in here are quite good (not fantastic), that's mostly what the book is all about. Pictures. There's no story behind each of them. It's quite pricey for pictures. I'd wait a while until it comes down in price. As for the show? It's the best show you will ever see in your lifetime. Trust me. I've seen a show or two before, and this is something special.

this book is realy poetic and beautifull. it take you fare...fare in the creations of cirque du soleil and in the peotic of the image themself.

This book gives you almost no taste of what the show is like. It is a collection of beautiful but artsy fartsy pictures, capturing the photographers style rather than this amazing show. The bad poetry dramatically inserted as captions to the pictures continues the slightly pretensious path the book took.there are only TWO PAGES at the end of the book devoted to writing about the actual show. For a show that is completely groundbreaking and unique, that is far too little. It is almost all text that is available at the cirque site (an excelent site, as opposed to this book)To see what this book could have been, take a look at the book of "Pride Rock on Broadway: Julie Taymor's The Lion King". This is a book about an amazing, one- of- a- kind show, packed with quotes from the creators, concept drawings, beautiful photographs, ideas that were cut, technical diagrams and explanations of problems that arose during production and how the team solved them. It is a book that any person, and *especially* a theater person from any discipline would love. That is the kind of book that this could have been, and it isn't.If you want an artsy collection of photographs, this is for you. Otherwise, wait till you get a chance to actually see the show - it will be worth it!

I just saw the water-themed "O" by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio in Las Vegas mere days ago and was utterly spellbound by the otherwordly experience. Afterwards I decided to check out the souvenir shop and perused this book there. What I found inside were a bunch of lack-luster photographs taken from the spectacular performance, but none of them actually capture the magic of seeing it happen before your very eyes, and what a marvel it is to behold upclose!In short, these images don't do the production justice! I would not recommend this to anyone who's considering buying tickets for the continuously sold-out "O" and would like to get a taste of what your in for because this may disgcourage you, and that would be a crying shame. Just trust in all the people that have raved about how amazing the show is and buy this simply as memorabilia.
