Not my usual read, but a compelling look at history in the making in Egypt! Marshall writes his thoughts and experiences and paints a vivid look at modern day business and life in Egypt!
This book was perfect for me on several levels. The business and political insight about Egypt is useful because I am involved in "developing country" investments. And, the narrative was well organized and well written: a entertaining story with often-humorous anecdotes.I agree with the author that countries should move from central planning to free markets to improve living standards for everyone. Therefore, I appreciated the well-thought-out ways in which the author argued this.And, I believe American businesspeople preparing to do business in the more chaotic parts of the world are wise to read-up on the experiences of others who have already done that.I highly recommend this book!John Christmas, author of "Democracy Society"
