They are simple and easy to follow and every dish has great flavor and makes meal planning very easy and i have prepared several of the recipes and they have all been a delicious success and easy to prepare and this book also has great tips for using all brands of electric pressure cookers and recipes are everyday recipes, you don't need fancy spices, comes with A lot of extra information, tips and tricks and beautiful pictures and i've had my book so far book since it came out and I have yet to make something my family doesn't love and even my picky eaters who are 7, 10 and 12 years old love going through it and telling me what they want me to make and i cooked my way through her website and I am now cooking my way through this awesome book and i ended up having to buy it from a competitor because I waited over a month for it to arrive from Amazon and gave up waiting and bought it elsewhere and i'm so glad I bought this book and it's a lot of new recipes and some great tips and the recipes are easy to follow and use simple ingredients that even picky eaters will eat and it's a great resource for anyone using an electric pressure cooker.Thanks for this cookbook i'm trying out a lot of new and delicious recipes!

I was given an electric pressure cooker as a gift a few years ago. I found it intimidating and confusing. Then I began using it and found it made cooking in my small kitchen easier and was great for busy nights.Then the problem was finding more recipes. This book solves this problem with 100 different recipes including recipes for various meats, vegan recipes, sides, even desserts. I have heard of dessert being made in the pressure cooker, but had never seen the recipes that were so clear and concise. I now feel confident enough to attempt my own cheesecake!

This cookbook is very useful for those new to an electric pressure cooker, but also has great recipes for seasoned cook. It starts with several pages of tips and tricks on how to get the best results with your electric pressure cooker. Then goes into the recipes. I loved that the recipes are categorized by food type (beef, chicken, etc.). Also, there are a variety of recipes: both fancy for special occasions and plain when you just want something that everyone will enjoy. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

This is a nice good. The colors and font are easy to read, even for my older eyes. The stitched binding allows it to lay flat when open. Recipes are easy to read and follow, with complete, clear directions for the novice or IP pro.

This is a really well done (pardon the pun) cookbook. It is full of yummy looking recipes that I can't wait to try. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.

About the Author

Judge William Alsup was born in Mississippi in 1945 and attended state-segregated white public schools until his junior year at Mississippi State University. The first African American student would enroll in the college that year, marking the author’s first experience in an integrated school. Alsup was accepted to Harvard University in 1967, which led him to move from his home state for the first time. At Harvard, Alsup earned a law degree and a master’s in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government. In 1971–1972, he clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, working on the abortion cases and the “Trees Have Standing” case. Alsup then returned to Mississippi, where he practiced civil rights law before eventually relocating to California as a trial lawyer. In 1999, he was nominated by President Bill Clinton and confirmed by the Senate as a United States District Judge in San Francisco. He has presided over a number of high-profile trials, with more than two hundred of his opinions being reprinted in official legal reporters. He is also the author of Such a Landscape! and Missing in the Minarets. Alsup is married with two children and two grandchildren.

Very poignant and well written memoir of a white boy coming of age in the racist environment that was Mississippi in the 60's.First hand exposure to events many of us have only read about.

This book is thoughtful and timely, given the recent discussions about race in our country. Written with honesty. Has both a personal scale and historical scale - how the individual fits into a larger pattern of history. I highly recommend.

Debra Kauffman Yaun discovered that she had a knack for drawing people when she was a young girl growing up in Tampa, Florida. After graduating from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, Debra worked as a fashion illustrator. Love this book as it covers varied drawings. Such as a parrot, tiger lilies A drawing of clematis climbing on an old bell on a post, a kitten , a portrait of a little girl, a landscape with a river, a seascape, and old mill, two still lifes, an owl and part of an old car.The instructions are step by step and the book includes color values, tools and materials, different pencil strokes, layering and blending, and Burnishing. Each project introduces different things to learn. And on top of all that the projects are interesting and beautiful.

This is a small book with a huge amount of helpful subjects on working with colored pencil. I am a beginner and was able to complete one of the drawings with the step by step instruction. I have it close to my work and refer to it often.

Walter Foster books are usually very good. This one is no exception. Colored pencil is a great medium for getting near-realistic effects, and if you scan your drawings, and play with Photoshop, you can do very interesting things. I like alien landscapes, moons on Saturn, say. Usually the picture on the cover says it all, with books like this. Good water effects are not easy to achieve. Doing good imaginary art requires grounding in drawing from consensus reality. This book is very good for that. Colored pencil effects are achieved with layers, something like what Photoshop does, and this book covers that better than some others.

This book gives information about drawing with colored pencils. Then it looks at specific drawings and asks the artist to tell how they drew them. Unfortunately it leaves out critical information specifying what exactly was required to use their techniques. Not all pencils and papers behave the way these authors describe. There are other books that are more informative with regards to types of pencils and types of paper. Those other books acknowledge the different methods available with the variety of materials. Get those books first. Then you can supplement your library with this book.

This was the best introduction to coloured pencil drawing one could wish for. It is clearly explained and gives some outstanding tips on technique

Very little actual instruction. Mostly a set of progressively developed pictures. never more than four steps. I think you can do better but that's just a personal opinion.

I think the art work is beautiful but I was expecting a beginners colored Pencil learning book and this is definitely named. I showed it to my art group which consists of both beginners and professionals and they agreed the step by step should have included the words for "Advanced Students". I gave it to one of the advanced members in our group.

An excellent book of you're looking for good instruction on using colored pencil or looking to improve your technique. The steps are extremely well narrated, Pat Averill shares little "technique nuggets" that have really helped me improve. This is exactly what I was looking for.
